A Jungle Chronicle
Unpublished manuscript found more than 50 years after Schweitzer died
„A Jungle Chronicle“ is the name of a 350 page manuscript written by Albert Schweitzer and Associates covering the daily life, experiences and difficulties in his hospital in Lambaréné.
Charles R. Joy (1888-1978) edited and translated the manuscript. He is known for several books on Schweitzer in the American Market. Why the „A Jungle Chronicle“ manuscript wasn’t published is still a secret that needs to be solved. We are looking for the original letters between Schweitzer and Joy that could explain the ciscumstances.
|We hope of beeing able to publish the book on the 150th birthday of Albert Schweitzer in 2025. If you want to help us with this great (but expensive project), feel free to make a donation here.
Thank you very much !
